2018 open enrollment: Beat the Oct. 31 deadline!

Open enrollment is the one time each year when all eligible associates can enroll in, make changes to or cancel insurance coverage.

All eligible associates must log in to PASSport to complete the online open enrollment process by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Oct. 31.

Three important reasons to complete open enrollment today

  1. Get the coverage you need for 2018. This is your chance to enroll in health, dental and vision coverage and apply for long-term disability (LTD) coverage. Health care can be expensive, and Publix provides you with gold-level coverage for an affordable pay period deduction.
  2. If you don’t do it now, you’ll miss your chance. Unless you experience an event like getting married, divorced or having a child, you won’t be able to make changes to your coverage until open enrollment 2019.
  3. If you don’t confirm or update your tobacco use status, you’ll remain enrolled in the BCBS PPO Plan for 2018 at the higher tobacco user pay period deduction.

New this year

  1. Go green and save trees — choose to go paperless when you complete open enrollment! Signing up to receive benefits and tax documents electronically means you can access them sooner online instead of waiting for the paper.
  2. After two years of no increases, the pay period deduction for associate-only coverage is increasing $1.57 a week to $25.73 with the tobacco-free discount for the BCBS PPO Plan. This is an increase of less than 4 cents per hour based on a 40-hour work week.
  3. After several years of no increases, BCBS PPO Plan copays are increasing for office, urgent care and emergency room visits.

The group benefits stories in Publix News are published to assist associates in understanding Publix’s benefits plans. The information is in summary form only and does not replace the provisions in the benefit plan documents. If there is any conflict between the content of Publix News and the plans themselves, the terms of the plans will be the final authority.
