What a year it’s been!
In the past 12 months, we hosted three challenges to get you motivated. First, you reduced your chance of getting and spreading the flu and learned your key wellness numbers with Take Two for Prevention. Then, we asked you to Step It Up to find out which store or support area averaged the most steps per associate. And finally, this summer, we tempted you to Color Your Plate to see which store in each division and support area could average the most weekly points per associate by eating more fruits and vegetables. We hope your participation helped you add healthful habits to your daily routine.
We developed the Life. Inspired. program with the goal of encouraging our associates and their families to engage in behaviors centered around four pillars of wellness: eat right, exercise, quit tobacco and achieve overall well-being. From the beginning, we’ve wanted to encourage and support you to live well. Whether that’s meeting a fitness goal, finally quitting tobacco, working toward a balanced diet or finding ways to reduce stress, Life. Inspired. provides tools, tips and inspiration to keep you on track.
Beyond our companywide challenges and the information found in the Life. Inspired. quarterly insert, the Life. Inspired. program provides other benefits to help you and your family on your journey. You can
- receive free flu shots and annual health screenings for you and discounted flu shots for family members living in your household
- participate in Publix-sponsored walks and runs in your community and
- access resources to help you quit tobacco, including free state quit lines and a Tobacco Cessation Program for BCBS PPO Plan enrollees.
As CEO & President Todd Jones reminded us last year, “Every associate should take time to reflect on their health. It’s important for ourselves, our family and Publix. Our company’s success depends on our associates, and we need you to be at your best while at work. Your family and friends need you to be at your best at home.”

Make health and wellness a priority
- Remember, even modest changes will benefit you and your family, both at home and at work!
- Invite your family members and friends to join you when exercising. They’ll keep you motivated and accountable along the way.
- Do something as simple as adding more fruits and vegetables in your diet.
