Increase your knowledge and better yourself

As an adult, you may think learning stopped when you graduated high school. But the truth is you should never stop learning. Learning increases your skill set and understanding. It also can help you grow and potentially further your career.

Fortunately, the adult education program at Publix can help you find classes close to where you live. The training delivery department has compiled a list of organizations across our operating areas that offer classes, such as Adult Basic Education, General Education Development (GED) preparation, English as a Second Language, one-on-one tutoring and conversational Spanish and French.

If you’re interested in finding opportunities in a community near you, simply complete the Adult Education Request Form at > Career and Self Development > Adult Education Request, or at > PASSport > Personal > Career & Self Development. Then, the training delivery department will send you a list of classes.

“Many associates may not know where to go or what’s available to them, but Publix has a program that can help,” said Senior Training Specialist June Arnold. “Through the adult education program, we’re able to make the search a little easier so associates can focus on improving the skills that will increase their potential.”

Going back to school for your GED? Publix can help.

After receiving a GED diploma from the state of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina or Tennessee, current associates may request reimbursement for an exam fee plus the registration fee paid to attend one GED exam preparation class or one GED exam preparation workbook.
