A typical Publix carries tens of thousands of grocery products. And at #890, Riverview, Florida, it’s up to Grocery Replenishment Specialist Christie Morris to make sure those items are available when customers need them.
Christie came to Publix nearly five years ago looking for a job. She had heard good things about the company, so she put in her application and was soon hired as a front service clerk. After about a year of bagging groceries, she wanted to learn more about store operations. She turned to the grocery department, which seemed to offer interesting opportunities to grow her career.
“After I worked in grocery for a while, I realized I wanted to be more involved in the replenishment process.”
Soon, Christie began learning the replenishment role. She carefully manages the inventory of items in her store to make sure our systems have the correct quantities on hand. This ensures the automated replenishment system is ordering the right amount of items at the time we need them. And when new products, like some of these, arrive in her store, Christie makes sure the planogram is quickly and accurately followed so our customers can easily find the items.
“Publix products are usually placed near the national brand so customers can compare them,” she said. “They taste just as good but are less expensive.”
Christie appreciates her career path with Publix and is proud to be part of Publix’s success.
“I enjoy seeing how much product we sell every day,” she said. “This is a great company, and every day is a learning experience to better serve our customers.”
