For any organization, success is dependent on the ability of the individuals to work together. Hiring the right people and investing in them perpetuates our culture and helps Mr. George’s legacy live on in future leaders.

Last month, at our Retail Operations Conference, we recognized company leaders and store teams with annual awards. Each award is an example of Publix’s success and celebrates those who invest in others and are building better tomorrows.

The George W. Jenkins Award — our most prestigious award — honors one manager in each retail division and one support associate who follows Mr. George’s rich tradition of leadership. These winners work in their own unique ways to perpetuate our culture and demonstrate overall leadership abilities, self-development, training and promotion of others, and community involvement.

The President’s Award is given to one district manager from each division and one support manager. These associates embody the spirit of fairness our company was founded on. It is through the successful efforts of these leaders that we continue our legacy of service to our increasingly diverse workforce and markets.

The Customer Service Award for Excellence recognizes associates at one store in each division who go above and beyond to provide premier customer service.

And, the Safety Award goes to one store in each division, as well as one distribution center and one manufacturing facility, for their associates’ attention to providing and encouraging a safe environment for their co-workers and customers.
