Tech-savvy manager serves up solutions

IT Delivery Manager Julie Hayes was born and raised in the hometown of Publix — Lakeland, Florida — and she always knew she wanted to work here.

It wasn’t until she started in an entry-level support position in 1997 that she realized just how many opportunities were available to work her way up.

“I had no idea so many doors were waiting for me to open,” said Julie. “Soon after I started, I began to see a future here.”

After 15 years in network support where she helped resolve technology issues for corporate users, Julie was promoted to her current position in August. Now in information systems customer support, she does the same thing for our stores. Her favorite part of her new job is being able to continue to provide premier service — just to a different group of customers.

“When a retail associate calls us, it’s because they’re experiencing an issue or challenge with their equipment, and they want it resolved quickly,” said Julie. “I want our team to assess the situation and provide a resolution as soon as they can so our stores can get back to business. As a company, our goal should always be to give each of our customers white glove treatment — no matter if they’re shopping in our stores or working in them.”
