Million miles of safe driving is no easy feat

Publix Truck

When you see Publix trucks out on the road, you might not think about the huge responsibility our drivers have while delivering product to stores safely.

That’s why distribution created the Million Mile Safe Driving Awards — as a way to recognize those drivers who have completed 1, 2 and 3 million miles of safe driving. To be eligible, drivers must drive a commercial motor vehicle for Publix during a minimum of 12 years without a preventable accident. They are awarded a certificate of accomplishment and a jacket with the million mile safe driving logo at an annual recognition banquet.

Earlier this year, 39 drivers were recognized for reaching that achievement, including Wade Mansfield from Jacksonville, who has completed 3 million miles of safe driving.
