When customers take the time to write letters of gratitude, you know your team is doing something right. Assistant Store Manager Bob Melaccio, #1198, Weeki Wachee, Florida, was thrilled to share such a letter about Pharmacist John Sievers, who does more than just his job — he demonstrates the Publix culture.
I don’t normally write letters to companies and certainly not one with such high accolades. John Sievers has completely changed the way that I look at my pharmacist. I didn’t used to put a whole lot of thought into who was filling my medicine. That sounds funny to say now.
John has become a part of not only our medical team but our life team. He handles my entire family’s medicinal needs. He overheard my children say that their prescription vitamins tasted nasty, so he ordered a new flavor for them. Wait, we didn’t ask him to do it; he just did it.
So, when my insurance company said that I would have to pay more to have my prescriptions filled at Publix versus automatic mail, I told them to quit calling me. I am not going anywhere else.
My grandfather had a saying over the front door of his business: “Business goes where it is invited and stays where it is welcome.” I think that John embraces the customers that he has. He makes you feel special. He has hundreds of customers. He knows all of our names and the customer in front of me and the man next in line.
The rest of the store is pretty fabulous too. It is our family Publix. You have a loyal customer in us! Thank you.
