It’s a cliché because it’s true: There’s an app for that. And that includes living your best Life. Inspired. So, let’s get searching.
Eat right
There are many options out there to help you monitor what you eat. Calorie counters can help keep your weight loss goals on track. Other apps let you plan your meals ahead of time, create shopping lists, search for recipes or remind you to drink more water. There also are apps for popular diet plans and specific dietary needs like gluten-free or vegan.
Exercise
Wanna work out but don’t wanna go to the gym? Bring the workout to you with training apps. Whether you want to train for a 5K, have toned abs or fit in a short, high-intensity workout before work, you’re sure to find something to meet your needs. If you’re walking, biking or running, use apps to track your distance and speed or give you extra motivation to push harder (but only if your doctor says you can!).
Quit tobacco
There are even apps to help you quit tobacco! Some apps help you understand your smoking patterns so you can make informed choices. Others provide advice, share tips or help you develop personalized quit plans. Some paid subscription apps connect you with a coach for one-on-one counseling and encouragement.
Achieve overall well-being
Overall well-being encompasses a lot of things, and you can find apps for many of them. Track your sleep cycles or play relaxing sounds to help you get the sleep you need. Find guided meditation and mindfulness apps to help you relax and reduce stress. Use science-based games to train your brain. Or, video chat with doctors to avoid waiting rooms. Who knows, your doctor may recommend an app that transforms your phone or tablet into a medical device — like an EKG or blood sugar reader.
Pick the right app for the job
So many apps are free, you could just download a bunch and try them out. But, seriously, who has time for that? Take out some of the guesswork by first figuring out what your goals and needs are and then searching for apps that fit the bill. You also can talk with your doctor for recommendations.
Yay! Do the thing!
Once you’ve found the apps for you, get out there and pursue your health and well-being goals. The tools to your success may be right at your fingertips!
