Your commitment and passion for serving our customers make Publix a great place to work and shop. That’s why Publix leaders visit each store and support department every year to thank you.
During their visits, leaders can answer questions about our company. Your managers will give you more information about your upcoming Associate Appreciation Visit (AAV).
To give you the inside scoop on what it’s like for leaders during the visits, we spoke to Lakeland Division Regional Director Bryan Lanzilotta.
Why do you think AAVs are important?
Last year was my 1st time doing a visit, and I loved it! They are important because they allow us to connect with areas of the company that we might not normally connect with. They also act as an opportunity for our associates to ask questions. I hope our associates know that as leaders, we leave those visits feeling very inspired. I love hearing all the Publix stories.
What areas of the company did you visit?
In November, I visited stores in Alabama and Panama City, Florida. In December, I visited corporate communications in Lakeland.
What advice would you give to associates who are expecting an AAV?
Ask lots of questions, and don’t be afraid to stay in touch!
What would you tell leaders doing an AAV for the 1st time?
Be yourself and don’t go in with a scripted speech. It was nice having natural conversations and sharing about our accomplishments and growth as a company. I would also tell leaders to expect lots of great questions. You want to make sure you answer everyone correctly, so there will probably be some things you will need to research and follow up on.
