Be a quitter for free

Free programs can help you end your tobacco habit.

You’ve heard Publix has a program to help you quit if you’re enrolled in our BCBS PPO Plan. But did you know there are free programs out there too? And you don’t need health insurance to use them.

Quit lines

Each state hosts a program through their health department, and the federal government offers one through the National Cancer Institute. Plus, several major non-profit organizations like the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association provide free programs. These programs feature

  • online or telephone-based coaching
  • help creating a plan to quit
  • tips for controlling cravings and
  • in some cases, starter packs of nicotine-replacement therapies.

Finding options

Visit the Tobacco Cessation Resources page on PASSport to see a list of available programs, including links to their websites and phone numbers. Once you’ve decided which program is right for you, just contact the program to get started.

Get Quit with Chantix

If you’re a BCBS PPO Plan enrollee, we have another option for you! It has two components: Chantix for a low $12 copay at a Publix Pharmacy and the GET QUIT support plan.
