Be There Day brings Publix associates together

Be There Day text in script

Throughout July, Publix leaders visited stores and support locations to connect with associates during Be There Day. Since the start of Publix in 1930, Mr. George made it a habit to visit stores and work locations to build relationships and make Publix stronger. Today, this tradition — and our culture — continues to live on as our leaders make sure they listen to and learn from associates, both during Be There Day and throughout the year.

We asked a few of our leaders to share their experiences.

“It’s an honor for me to ‘Be There’ in the bakery. Working in the department with our talented retail associates serves as a reminder of our dedication to providing unique and quality products to our customers. Experiencing the detailed product preparation makes me proud to be a company owner!”

— Business Development Director of General Merchandise and HBC Cindy Roberts visited #448, Winter Haven, Florida.

“I enjoy participating in Be There Day because it gives me an opportunity to connect with associates I typically don’t interact with in my day-to-day work. I work side-by-side with them and learn about who they are and what they do to help make our company successful. For me, it’s a great opportunity to learn more about Publix and meet members of the Publix family.”

“What a great day! In my opinion, there is nothing more rewarding and fun than having the opportunity to work alongside our associates. I feel like I made some new friends who were supportive, energetic and very patient. It gives me a true appreciation and helps me maintain perspective on what it takes for our operations to be successful. Thank you to the team.”

— Vice President of Manufacturing Doug Harris visited #640, St. Petersburg, Florida.
