For years, Publix Super Markets Charities has helped associates double their gifts to education through the Matching Gift Program.

Whether you’re giving back to your alma mater or supporting your child or grandchild’s school, the Matching Gift Program will match your donation of $25 to $5,000 in one year — dollar for dollar — or $10,000 over a two-year period.

You can designate not only the school but also the purpose of the gift — for general education purposes or a specific department, program or scholarship — and Charities’ matching gift will be designated for the same purpose.

Full- and part-time associates with at least one calendar year of service can participate. Part-time associates must also have a minimum of 1,000 work credit hours in the previous calendar year.

Donations to the school can be made in cash or stock — either Publix or publicly-traded — at any time during the year. To be eligible for the Matching Gift Program, public schools or accredited private schools (K-12), college or university in the U.S. must be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Private schools must provide a copy of their Certificate of Accreditation.
