“I still had a month before my classes started,” Tuesday said. “I decided to look into the programs Publix offered and discovered it was very easy to apply by filling out the form and submitting it for my manager’s approval.”
Thanks to Publix, Tuesday was able to have part of her tuition costs covered for psychology, college algebra and public speaking classes. She started taking classes last August and will earn her associate of arts (A.A.) degree by the end of this summer.
Tuesday was inspired to go back to school after her daughter, Laci, began pursuing her bachelor’s degree. Once her A.A. is completed, Tuesday plans to continue her studies in business administration and finance by transferring to the University of South Florida to obtain her bachelor’s degree.
“I’ve always wanted to get my degree,” she said. “The tuition reimbursement program made it even more worth it. I’m glad I did it.”
