Go on the best date ever this Valentine’s Day, with yourself!

Message in the sand stands for a whole generation: I Heart Me

You don’t need a significant other to have a great Valentine’s Day date — or any date!

So what if you don’t have a special someone. You’re already in a relationship with a person who matters: you! And you deserve a date with yourself.

Taking yourself out on a date isn’t a weird idea. In fact, it might be one of the best things you can do for your well-being. When you understand and appreciate yourself, it’s easier to recover from hard times.

And then there’s the convenience factor. You don’t have to work around someone else’s schedule, and the agenda for the date is all up to you. No worrying about what another person wants to do or when, or if they’re having fun.

Not sure where to start? Try these fun solo ideas on for size.

  • Grab your favorite Pub Sub and have a picnic in the park. Read a book. Walk around. Smell the roses. It’s all up to you!
  • Pick up an Aprons meal kit, a bouquet of flowers and your favorite beverage. Then, set the table and enjoy a candlelit dinner for one.
  • Take a road trip to a nearby attraction or that cute little downtown you’ve been wanting to explore. Why wait for someone to go with you?
  • Take a hike in a local state park. Enjoy the quiet of nature without that weird, uncomfortable feeling that you need to talk to the person next to you.
  • Visit a museum or gallery. You can wander the halls at your own pace.
  • Cruise the back roads while listening to what you want. The playlist and destination (or lack of one) are entirely up to you. Turn up the tunes and go for it!

Now, set the date and stick to it! You may find it’s the best date you have all year.
