At Publix, being involved as responsible citizens in our communities is something we all share.
Our founder, Mr. George, knew that giving back was not an expense of doing business, but an investment in strengthening our communities. He believed it was a privilege to serve those around us, and he supported countless organizations like Special Olympics, the Boys & Girls Clubs, the Boy Scouts of America and United Way.
Mr. George once said, “We have tried to instill the idea in all of our people that they should be very much a part of the community, make some contributions to churches, schools, Scouts, whatever. There are plenty of avenues that people can work for in a busy community. We are privileged in getting people who are interested in community welfare.”
Mr. George’s spirit of giving and service remains at the heart of everything we do.
