National Truck Driver Appreciation Week is Sept. 12 – 18.
Without truck drivers, garbage would fill the streets, gas stations would run out of fuel and hospitals would not receive medical supplies. And without our Publix truck drivers, our stores would run low on product and supplies. Almost every part of our daily lives is made possible because a truck driver delivered the essentials and resources we need.
The job of a Publix truck driver is a crucial part of our supply chain. In 2020, our truck drivers traveled over 75 million miles, completed more than 550,000 trips and made over 1.4 million deliveries to our stores, all while promoting safe driving and representing our company.
That’s why during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, Sept. 12 – 18, we thank our Publix drivers for their hard work and dedication to this demanding and important job. This year’s appreciation week is especially significant, recognizing the critical role of our drivers during the pandemic.
During National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, our truck drivers are treated with a special menu every day and a gift they can use for their jobs like work gloves, flashlights and rain jackets. Our stores also go above and beyond to show their appreciation by putting up special displays and posters, as well as providing our drivers snack bars and treats.
Be sure to show the drivers who deliver to our stores some love and let them know how much you appreciate them and the job they do to keep the wheels rolling — on their trucks and for our stores!
