The gift of time: Publix’s paid parental leave

Publix offers paid parental leave for eligible associates, intended to give parents time to bond with their new child.

This benefit gives parents time off with pay, consecutively or intermittently, within the 1st year after the birth or adoption of a child. Since its launch in 2022, more than 5,000 associates have taken advantage of this benefit.

Associates who would like to take advantage of paid parental leave must have completed 1 year of service with Publix by the date of their child’s birth or adoption. Associates must also reach at least 1,250 hours (a weekly average of 24.04 hours) in the 52 weeks before the birth or adoption date.

If you meet the requirements, you may receive a percentage of your pay. Eligible full-time associates can receive up to 60% of their pay, and eligible part-time associates can receive up to 50% of their pay.

The amount of paid parental leave available is based on your years of service, whether you are full-time or part-time, and if you’re hourly or salaried at the time of the birth or adoption. To estimate your paid time off, use the calculator tool on PASSport.
