This associate takes pride in his Publix career

Real Estate Attorney Ken Picciano started working at Publix in high school but didn’t know it would become the invisible string that would tie his career together.

Ken was hired as a front service clerk at #420, New Port Richey, Florida, and held several positions during high school and college. After graduating from law school and passing the bar exam, he joined the real estate finance team in 2015. Five years later, Ken joined the legal team as a real estate paralegal and was promoted to his current role in January.

“Every day is different for the real estate legal team,” he said. “We are always working to facilitate the goals of our real estate department from a legal standpoint.”

Ken provides legal advice on real estate matters to business areas. He supports the real estate team by working on leases, purchase agreements and other real estate contracts with tenants, landlords and developers. Ken helps support new store openings and ensures our company-owned shopping centers have timely leases for new tenants.

If you want to advance your career with Publix on the real estate legal team or elsewhere, Ken has 3 pieces of advice.

“Talk to people, learn the business and treat people well,” he said.
