Each year, managers gather for our Retail Operations Conference to hear from our leaders. While we couldn’t all be together in 2021, leaders still shared our successes and plans for growth during smaller Leadership Meetings. In this special edition, we’re sharing highlights from these meetings.
Connections are the bridge to our success
Mr. George opened his first store in 1930 with the philosophy of running a better supermarket than our competitors. But how do we do that? CEO Todd Jones kicked off the meetings by talking about the importance of operational excellence and sharing how a focus on building relationships will help us continue to grow.
We want our customers to not only be regular shoppers, but to recommend us to others, support the causes we support and remain loyal. And to earn that level of trust, we must build relationships, whether customers are shopping in-store or online.
“The connections our associates make with their customers are the difference between someone shopping with us or shopping at a competitor down the street,” said Todd. “The connections we make are the difference between growing and staying stagnant.”
Our Publix pride keeps us thriving
Over the past two years, we’ve experienced unique challenges. But in true Publix spirit, we continued providing customers with the premier service and high-quality products they expect.
President Kevin Murphy reminded us that when we go above and beyond to serve our customers, we truly make Publix a place where shopping is a pleasure. We should continue to focus on replenishment to ensure we’re meeting customers’ expectations, and on our difference makers to keep them coming back. It’s vital to follow our processes to maintain our standards each day and at every store.
“As owners of this company, we take immense pride in what it means to be Publix,” said Kevin. “Whether it’s a natural disaster or a global pandemic, we’re there day in and day out for our customers and associates.”
