Local artists reflect on creating for GreenWise Market

Snippets of art murals from the different GreenWise stores

Our newest mural artists had something to say when we asked about working with GreenWise Market.

“[The engagement of local artists] speaks of a commitment to the communities in which the stores will be located and the role of art to connect people to their community. I was quite honored to be selected and found the support from Publix to be encouraging and extraordinary!”

  • Wayne Rogers (#1710, Lexington, South Carolina)

“I think it’s wonderful that GreenWise Market supports local artists. It’s just one of the things that makes it stand out from other markets. Naturally, I was thrilled to be selected to create the mural, and it was so exciting to see it installed in the store.”

  • Ellen Burr (#1674, Boca Raton, Florida)

“By inviting independent artists to participate in the GreenWise Market experience, Publix honors everyone working toward a dream. I can’t imagine anything more encouraging than to hear someone say, ‘We like your work so much, we want it to cover this entire wall.’ I’m pretty sure I did backflips down the hallway.”

  • Fred Koehler (#1659, Lakeland, Florida)

“I love how this represents true community to use local artists from the area for a local store. I have always secretly wanted to create something for Publix/GreenWise Market, but this is way more than I can imagine. I’m so honored by this opportunity!”
