Chadi began his Publix career in 1989 as a front service clerk at #222, Miami. He worked in various positions in grocery and customer service on his way to becoming a store manager in 2009, a district manager in 2015 and a regional director in 2023.
What are you most proud of in your life?
Having amazing kids who are loving and humble. They would give you the shirt off their backs without even knowing you, and they are only 21 and 17 years old.
What is your most memorable moment at Publix?
Meeting Mr. George when I was around 20 years old. He looked me in the eyes and smiled. It was a special moment I’ll never forget.
What is your work philosophy?
I try to go to work every day with the vision of empowering people. I want each associate to understand that they are not a number but a part of our business culture and success.
Can you think of a moment when Publix was there for you?
My dad passed away when I was 25 years old. It was hard, but for 2 weeks straight, my store manager and district manager made sure I had food on the table and company every night. The empathy and family-like culture at Publix is like no other.

What do you think makes Publix a great place to work?
Publix is great because we own it, so we take care of it like it is ours. We are also one big family.
What skills are most useful in your current role?
I have learned that it is all about communication and getting people to believe in you.
What advice would you give someone just starting at Publix?
Be patient. Look forward to what tomorrow brings and understand that everybody has a place at Publix.
Where is your favorite place to vacation?
Italy. Next year will be my 11th trip there.
What is your favorite pizza topping?
Fresh mozzarella with crushed pistachios
What was the last book you read?
“Outlive.” It’s a book about healthy living and being a better human.
What is your favorite board game?
Clue
If you had to eat 1 food for the rest of your life, what food would it be?
Blueberries
What is an essential part of your daily routine?
Right after I wake up, I drink an espresso and relax for about 10 minutes. Then I go to the gym. If I start my morning like that, everything else seems to fall into place.
What is the most important thing on your bucket list?
I have 2. First, I want to work like Mr. George — until I am well-known and respected so much that I don’t have to introduce myself anymore. Second, I want to buy a house in Italy and eventually retire there.
If you could spend a day in someone else’s shoes, whose would they be?
Someone who works in Publix Super Markets Charities. I’m a sucker for helping children and families in need, and that would be very fulfilling work.
