Making dad proud

Pharmacy Manager Kim Triebell, #1214, Satellite Beach, Florida, always dreamed of following in her dad’s footsteps and becoming a pharmacist.

From watching her pharmacist dad serve customers and set an example, Kim knew from a young age that pharmacy was her calling.

“I love caring for people and showing them what health care workers are here for,” said Kim. “When I came to Publix, I realized that my values and beliefs in caring for patients were aligned with the company’s mission and history.”

During Easter weekend in 2022, a mother came in after the pharmacy had closed, desperate to get her sick daughter’s medication.

“When I heard how upset she was and how no other retailers were open, I knew exactly what I had to do,” said Kim. “I thought about how I would feel if I were in her position, and I wanted to help her. I love that Publix encourages us to go above and beyond for our customers. It makes our communities, and the world, a better place!”

But this level of care is nothing new for Kim.

“I watched my dad when he was a pharmacist and how he served his customers,” said Kim. “He taught me that when you are good to people, they are good to you. So take your time and show them that they have your undivided attention.”

Now that her dad is retired, Kim continues to share with him her daily experiences as a Publix Pharmacist.

“My dad is proud of my success and the fact I was asked to do this interview,” said Kim. “He asked me recently if I was still happy with my choice, to which I confidently answered, ‘Absolutely.’”
