Stephany Seekins, Director of Health and Welfare Benefits

Stephany began her Publix career in 1995 as a clerk in accounts receivable. She joined the benefits team in 1999 and has held multiple positions, including benefits analyst, health and welfare benefits compliance manager, and senior manager of health and welfare benefits. Stephany was promoted to her current position in 2023.

Which skills do you think have advanced your Publix career the most?

What’s your advice to someone just starting their Publix career?
Take in everything. Don’t be afraid to volunteer for new opportunities. The more you know and learn, the greater the impact you can make.

In your opinion, what makes Publix a great place to work?
Our people. Many of the individuals I’ve met here have become my closest friends and have been by my side through life’s highs and lows.

What’s your favorite Mr. George quote?
“Begin. The rest is easy.” The 1st step is always the hardest when trying something new.

“Sweet Home Alabama”

What’s one thing on your bucket list?
I want to revisit Japan. I lived there for a few years as a child and would love to return.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I love spending time with family, going to the beach and traveling.

How has working at Publix affected your life?
I used to be very shy, but working at Publix has helped me come out of my shell. Our culture has helped me realize the value of fostering relationships.

What do you want to do next in your career?
I want to focus on mentoring, helping my team members grow and building a legacy that will inspire others.
