Security Supervisor Pauline Mack handles everything from fire alarms to working with associates.

When Pauline first moved to Florida in 1997, she looked into job opportunities at Publix, which was forming its security team at the time. After she got her security officer’s license, she was hired part time to be one of the first associates on the team. Pauline was always willing to assist when needed and moved to full time within several months.

“No 2 days are the same. It’s always a learning experience,” Pauline said. “On a typical day, I can deal with just about anything. It can go from zero to 100 in minutes. It’s a new experience every day. That’s why I love it.”

In 2005, Pauline was promoted to security supervisor, where she mentors others and pushes them to do their job to the best of their ability. She gets satisfaction from watching them excel.

“When an associate tells me they would like to move to another level, I tell them where I think they would be most successful,” said Pauline. “Some of these associates went on to other jobs I suggested, and they are still there to this day.”

After 25 years on the job, she still enjoys going to work every day and looks forward to the many adventures to come.
