Trae began his Publix career in 1997 as a grocery clerk at #277, Orange Park, Florida. He held various positions, including grocery manager, assistant store manager and store manager. In 2014, he was promoted to a district manager in the Miami Division, then to a regional director in the Jacksonville Division in 2021. Trae also received his division’s 2020 President’s Award.
What’s something about you that people may be surprised to learn?
I grew up on a dairy farm in Mayo, Florida.
What’s your favorite sports team?
I have a few: the Atlanta Braves, Jacksonville Jaguars and Florida State University — go Noles!
What’s your advice to someone just starting their Publix career?
Believe in yourself, work hard and do what’s right. There are no limits to what you can achieve at Publix.
What toppings do you like on your pizza?
Pizza is my favorite food! Every Friday night is pizza night at my house. I love all kinds, but pepperoni with jalapenos is one of my favorite combinations.

Be there. Part of my responsibility in meeting my team’s needs is to coach, lead and inspire. I do this by being present — taking the time to understand and support associates in achieving their goals and empowering them to believe in themselves.
