On Sept. 29, Publix stores across Florida celebrated Mr. George Day with their local first responders. Each store decorated a special cake and presented it, along with a note expressing their gratitude, for everything the first responders did during and after Hurricane Irma. Managers submitted photos to Publix News, and several managers and first responders shared their experiences on social media using #publixgratitude.
