Deli subs, fried chicken ranked the best

We know Publix subs are legendary in our operating area, but now they’re drawing national attention. Thrillist, a culture and entertainment website, claims our subs are the best in the nation based on their simplicity, consistency and fresh, high-quality ingredients. Thrillist also gave us credit for our high degree of customization and almost-endless combinations of meat, cheese and toppings. Publix began offering subs in the 1980s as a new category line and way to compete with chains like Subway and later Quiznos. Today, the most popular pick is our chicken tender sub.

And if it’s not subs our customers are craving, it’s our deli fried chicken. Southernkitchen.com recently compared Southern fast food fried chicken, our deli fried chicken was named Best Overall Grocery Chain Chicken. Publix received top marks for both crispiness and chicken flavor, and scored high in juiciness and crust-skin adherence. Taste-testers commented on the chicken’s hint of herbs and appreciated the crust’s little kick of spice, good color, great crunch and overall best flavor.
