Ever had a lightbulb moment at work, when a great idea on how to improve something popped into your head?
Idea Spot has entered the chat.
Opening in 1940, the 1st Publix Super Market was packed with innovation, and we haven’t stopped innovating. Maybe your idea isn’t as big as electric-eye doors, air conditioning or grocery store aisles wide enough to fit a car — which are all Mr. George’s ideas, by the way. But you could still have an idea that will make Publix better.
There is a place for you to recommend improvements: Idea Spot. It’s a platform where associates like you can submit ideas to improve our company.
Since its launch in 2020, over 16,000 ideas have been submitted, 323 are currently in review with business units, and 53 have been approved and implemented. Associates like you suggested improvements that are now in use, such as
- linking to the Publix Pharmacy site from publix.com
- using prepackaged cocktail sauce for the shrimp snack packs and
- putting chicken sandwiches in brown boxes with fries.
In addition to seeing your idea come to life, which is a reward in and of itself, your great idea may also earn you some Publix Idea Spot swag and a certificate.
“We want to celebrate our associates and their great ideas,” said Innovation Support Specialist DeTangelia Williams, who supports Idea Spot. “Things like a certificate of recognition and Publix swag are our way of showing appreciation for improving the customer and associate experience, along with adding value for our stockholders.”
