Publix was named one of the world’s Most Admired Companies by FORTUNE magazine, ranking No. 2 in the food and drug industry. Publix has appeared on the list every year since 1994.
FORTUNE magazine’s list of the world’s Most Admired Companies is based on ratings from thousands of businesspeople within each industry. Survey respondents are asked to rate companies in their own industry on nine criteria, from investment value to social responsibility.
“Mr. George believed it would take all of us doing the right thing to make Publix successful. And we still operate on that principle today,” said CEO Ed Crenshaw. “Thanks to the commitment of our associates, Publix continues to grow.
