Publix manufacturing receives international food safety recognition

Associates accepting 2015 Quality Achievement Award as the Manufacturer/Distributor of the Year from the Safe Quality Foods Institute

Publix’s manufacturing facilities recently received the 2015 Quality Achievement Award as the Manufacturer/Distributor of the Year from the Safe Quality Foods Institute (SQFI). Accepting the award were (pictured left to right) Director of Corporate Quality Assurance Michael Roberson, Manager of Food Safety David Guilhaus, Senior Vice President of SQFI Bob Garfield and Atlanta Dairy Plant Department Manager of Quality Control Alex Cochran.

The award recognizes the outstanding commitment, support and performance of individuals and organizations who contribute to endorsing and improving the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program and mission around the globe. SQF is one of several benchmarked food safety certification programs to the Global Food Safety Initiative.

“Food safety is a shared responsibility, and all our associates should be very proud of our continued commitment to keeping food safe through every step of our supply chain,” Senior Vice President Mike Smith said.
