Publix moved to the top of the rankings in an annual customer survey to find America’s favorite grocery chain. The survey conducted by Market Force places Publix in a tie with Wegmans. Publix and Wegmans received a Customer Loyalty Index of 77 percent.

The survey asked more than 12,700 consumers to rank 23 supermarket chains in seven categories. Survey responses were tallied to create a Customer Loyalty Index, which was used to determine the rankings.

Publix claimed the top spot in four of the seven categories, including fast checkouts, ease of finding items, availability of products and cleanliness. In the categories of cashier courtesy and specialty department services, Publix ranked second.
