The BOGOs at Publix just keep getting better. This month, Publix launched the Build Your own BOGO promotion, beginning with the Nov. 5 weekly ad. Inspired by research that shows a majority of shoppers find the idea of mixing and matching BOGO items appealing, the promotion allows customers to choose any two participating BOGO items and receive the item of equal or lesser value for free.

“This promotion allows the customer to be in control of what they’re purchasing and alleviates the concern of purchasing too much of any one product,” said Business Development Director of General Merchandise and HBC Chris Haake.

The kickoff promotion runs through Nov. 10 for Wednesday ad stores and Nov. 11 for Thursday ad stores, and includes a wide variety of products, such as toothpaste, cereal, bread and condiments. However, not all BOGO items in the weekly ad are part of the promotion.

“We believe our customers will really embrace the Build Your Own BOGO promotion,” said Chris. “If all goes well, we hope to run similar promotions quarterly in 2016.”
