Our supply chain is a competitive advantage for us. We have a comprehensive network to transfer products from field to fork as efficiently as possible.
Our supply chain story starts with an objective to make products that either differentiate us from the competition or contribute to lower manufacturing costs. Associates from our retail business units and other support departments play important roles in determining which products we should produce in-house versus purchase from outside suppliers.
Once that decision is made, we cue the music and start the action, and our supply chain starts rolling. Either orders are placed with suppliers or production begins in our manufacturing plants. Then, distribution associates coordinate selecting and delivery to our stores.
In the end, our retail associates receive the products and position them in starring roles on our shelves. Check out how much goes into making Publix and our supply chain successful.
