From opening stores in new markets to introducing programs and services to make shopping even more of a pleasure, it’s been a busy year for Publix.
Take a look back at some of what happened in 2014. Our company accomplished so much because of hard-working associates like you who are dedicated to serving our customers. Keep up the great work — after all, it’s our responsibility as owners to continue growing our business in 2015 and beyond.
Same spirit, new store — and new state. On Feb. 26, Publix opened our much-anticipated first store in Charlotte, North Carolina. Visit PASSport > Personal > Career and Self Development > Charlotte Division for more information.
In May, Publix added a new drug to its free prescription program. Amlodipine is a commonly prescribed calcium-channel blocker used to treat high blood pressure and chest pain. In April, we introduced our corporate website, corporate.publix.com. It debuted with information like new store openings, career opportunities, financial news and the current stock price.
After more than 10 years, www.publix.com received a total transformation in September. The biggest addition is the product catalog. Select a store to view products specific to your location. Then, build a shopping list or place a deli order through Online Easy Ordering. If you can’t find an item, expand your search to include the closest five stores or items available for special order.
Both sites will continue to grow and change, so check back periodically to stay up-to-date with your company.
Our new distribution center in Orlando, Florida, began shipping frozen foods, boxed meat/dairy and produce to some Jacksonville and Lakeland Division stores Oct. 8. The complex totals 1 million square feet of warehouse and support buildings and will employ more than 500 associates.

Our 1950s Publix supermarkets had prime parking. Anyone remember these stores?
Accolades, awards & recognitions — oh, my!
