Keith began his Publix career in the meat department in 1978. He became a meat manager in 1988 and was promoted to store manager in 1997. In 2009, Keith became a district manager and was promoted to his current position in the Charlotte Division in 2013.

What do you enjoy most about working at Publix?
I enjoy the associates and customers most. I enjoy helping associates see opportunities available to them and coaching, training and developing them to be anything they want to be. I also enjoy providing customers the shopping experience, level of engagement and quality products they’ve come to expect — it gives me a sense of pride in what we offer.

Meeting the expectations I set for myself
What’s the most exciting part of your job?
Introducing our culture to areas that have never experienced Publix is very exciting. Many of our customers and associates are learning about our service, quality and community involvement for the first time.

Florida Gators
What’s your favorite Publix memory?
Opening so many new markets and the Charlotte Division, and seeing how associates from those new markets have grown and are investing in others like Mr. George did.

Meeting my wife, and the births of my daughter and granddaughter

I was in high school and needed money for gas and going out, so I applied to Publix.
What has changed most about Publix since you started here?
Technology — I remember when there was only one computer in the front office.
