Renee Kelly began her Publix career in 1983 as a programmer. She was promoted to application systems manager in 1989. In 1997, Renee was promoted to director of IT business alignment and director of business application delivery in 2006. In January, Renee was promoted to her current position.

What brought you to Publix?
I wanted to work for the best company, so I researched several companies to see which one had the values and culture that best matched my profile. Publix was easily the best choice.
What is the most challenging part of your job?
Delivering high-quality technology solutions that meet our customers’ needs as quickly as practical; we can’t compromise quality.
What has changed most about Publix since you started here?
The biggest change I’ve noticed is the tremendous growth of our company. When I came to Publix, information systems was a department of 50 associates — now we have close to 1,100 associates.
What’s your favorite Publix memory?
When I presented at our 2005 Leadership Conference and explained the benefits and plan for the rollout of our new Point of Sale system. My team and I are very passionate about this system because it touches both our associates and customers; it has to work flawlessly every time.
