Tim Cox, Director of Creative Services

Tim began his Publix career in 1980 as a screen printer in the sign shop. After a few years, he was promoted to manager of the screen-printing operation. In 1989, Vice President of Marketing Mark Irby asked him to spearhead the development of a creative department, and in 2004, he was promoted to his current role, where he oversees a team of more than 100 associates.

What’s something about you that people may be surprised to learn?
I played baseball through high school and college and wanted to become a professional player.

What’s your work philosophy?
Prepare for opportunity, even when you can’t see what’s coming.

Building relationships and patience

I’m most proud of having a role in starting this great creative team at Publix.
