This month, Publix News met up with Grocery Replenishment Specialist Beverly Avery, #819, Port St. Lucie, Florida, who is receiving her 25-year service award.
Publix News (PN): What brought you to Publix more than 25 years ago?
Beverly: I was working for a competitor, and my career wasn’t going anywhere. My husband worked for Publix, so I decided to apply and was hired.
PN: What has made you stay?
Beverly: The benefits and the people. Publix is the best company out there. I’ve never had to worry about our company downsizing.
PN: What do you enjoy most about your job?
Beverly: I love interacting with customers. It makes me happy to special order a product and see the customer’s reaction when I’m able to meet their needs.
PN: What’s the most challenging part of your job?
Beverly: Every day is different! I take things one step at a time and face any challenges that come my way.
PN: What hasn’t changed at Publix since you started here?
Beverly: The loyalty Publix has toward its associates
PN: What advice do you have for associates just starting?
Beverly: Stick with it; you can invest in your future here.
