By the end of this year, all delis will receive a TurboChef oven to roll out a new hot sandwich program. In addition to two new hot sandwich options, customers can have their traditional deli sandwich or sub toasted or pressed upon request.
Although Publix offers standard, suggested recipes, these sandwiches can be modified with toppings to cater to each customer’s specific taste.

Bakery jumbo cupcakes
The cupcake trend has made a lasting impression. The bakery is spicing up their gourmet jumbo cupcake program with names like Alotta Colada, Caramel Iced Coffee, Key West Cooler and Peanut Butter Hearts Chocolate. There is a standard variety of 20 cupcakes, plus 12 special edition flavors and the cost is $3.29 each.

Each month in the bakery self-service case, Publix features a special edition cake, and a jumbo cupcake of the same variety will be offered so customers can enjoy the flavor in a smaller serving size. Although they’re only featured for a short time, the special edition varieties — and all jumbo cupcakes — are available year-round through special order and the cost is $3.29 each.

Each dessert cup begins with a base of cake, and icing, whipped topping and other yummy goodness are added to finish off the flavor. Look for them in the bakery self-service case, by the deli sub tables and by the produce parfaits. These are 12 oz. in size and the average retail price is $2.99.
