Part of our mission at Publix is to be involved as responsible citizens in our communities. And one way we do good together is by working to ensure people experiencing hunger receive nourishing food.
During September’s Publix Serves Week, more than 6,300 associates volunteered at 205 nonprofit organizations focused on hunger alleviation. Throughout the week, associates spent time preparing meals, sorting produce, boxing food and more.
Publix Super Markets Charities (PSMC) also announced a donation of $5.65 million to 328 food banks and other nonprofit organizations working to alleviate hunger.
“We’re grateful to Publix Charities for their continued commitment to help alleviate hunger through this donation,” said CEO Todd Jones. “Publix and Publix Charities remain dedicated to doing good together to provide nourishing meals for people in need in our communities.”
