As a food retailer, we know that helping nourish our communities is our greatest opportunity to give back. Over the last year, food banks have seen an increase — some as high as 300 to 400% — in the number of individuals turning to them to help fill their plates.

In March, we kicked off a new program, Feeding More Together, to help alleviate hunger in our communities. Our new program raised nearly $5 million at the register to provide local food banks throughout our operating area with nonperishable food items they need to support individuals turning to them for assistance. But we didn’t stop there! As a company, we’re matching every dollar raised at the register to purchase produce from farmers to donate directly to Feeding America member food banks. Through the March Feeding More Together program, we’re able to provide 100 million meals for our neighbors in need.
