This hurricane season was devastating for so many, but we were there for our communities thanks to you. Publix and Publix Super Markets Charities (PSMC) proudly supported nonprofit organizations to help people recover from these disasters.
Hurricane Helene
In response to the damage Hurricane Helene caused in multiple states across our operating area, PSMC donated $1 million, and Publix activated a register campaign supporting the American Red Cross. The contributions from PSMC supported nonprofit organizations, including the American Red Cross, United Way and the Florida Fund, enabling them to help people recover from this disaster.
Hurricane Milton
Just 2 weeks after Helene, Hurricane Milton came through Florida. Publix activated a register campaign supporting storm relief, and PSMC donated another $1 million to help areas affected by Milton.
Doing good, together
In addition, Publix donated food, water, ice and other essentials like personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies and pet food to people in need.
Mr. George once said, “We are not only in the grocery business, we’re in the people business.” We believe in being there for our communities before and after a storm. This is part of our culture — to give back in times of need.
