Last month, associates throughout our 7-state operating area came together to give back to our communities during Publix Serves Week. And in true Publix fashion, we went green by volunteering with organizations focused on environmental sustainability. Throughout the week, nearly 6,200 associates volunteered more than 36,000 hours cleaning up waterways, removing invasive plants, helping with erosion control and other projects aimed at protecting our natural resources.
“Publix Serves Week continues Mr. George’s legacy of giving back,” said Director of Community Relations Dwaine Stevens. “It was wonderful to see so many of you coming together to serve our communities. And because of your volunteer efforts, parks, waterways, community gardens and more have been restored and renewed helping to protect the environment and beautify our communities.”
Thank you to everyone who made our first Publix Serves Week of 2022 a success. You can find pictures from some of our eventsĀ here, and you can search the hashtag #PublixServes to see the stories that were shared socially.
