Last December, leaders attending the Retail Operations Conference (ROC) came together to make no-sew blankets and paracord bracelets for the nonprofit Soldiers’ Angels. Approximately 400 blankets were delivered to Veterans Affairs hospitals, and 1,600 paracord bracelets will be given to active-duty soldiers. This project was our way of saying, “Thank you for your service.”

During the awards dinner, there were centerpieces made with fruit placed on each table. As we’ve done in the past, this fruit was donated to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida.

Mr. George once said, “We are not only in the grocery business; we’re in the people business.” This philosophy meant so much to him, and more than 90 years later, we are still doing good, together, including at the ROC.
