Lamb — a staple at Easter dinner tables

Did you know that Easter is the biggest holiday for lamb –– and Publix is one of the few remaining retailers to process lamb in-store to our customers’ exact specifications?

Lamb is in demand during holiday celebrations like Passover, Western Roman Easter and Greek Orthodox Easter.

To help customers with their traditional feasts, we offer GreenWise lamb. It’s sustainably and humanely raised in the open pastures of Australia –– known for raising and producing the most flavorful lamb in the world. They are grass fed and grain finished, raised without the use of antibiotics or growth hormones. The tender meat has a consistently rich flavor and is perfectly aged for a delicious eating experience.

Cooking tips: For safety, the U.S. Department of Agriculture recommends cooking lamb patties and ground lamb mixtures, such as meatloaf, to a minimum internal temperature of 160 F as measured by a food thermometer. Cook all raw lamb steaks, chops and roasts to a minimum internal temperature of 145 F as measured with a food thermometer before removing meat from the heat source. For safety and quality, allow the meat to rest for at least 3 minutes before carving or consuming.
