Our bakery is introducing a new made-from-scratch artisan bread. Who’s ready to try it?
When it comes to bread, we’ve taken it to the next level with the debut of our Italian-inspired Tutto Pugliese.
“This is a big deal for the bakery,” said Category Manager of Bakery Traditional Ashley Jones. “While making bread from scratch is not new to the bakery, this new bread has a higher moisture content and has to be molded by hand. Launching a high-quality product like this is exciting.”
Our Tutto bread is made exclusively from semolina flour, which is typically used to make pasta. It’s grown and milled in Italy and then processed in Belgium. It has a very distinct roasted nutty flavor. Tutto Pugliese and cheese medley varieties of the soft bread, with a creamy flavor and crispy crust, will be available daily.
“Before we rolled out this bread, we had a very limited offering of breads with cheese,” Ashley said. “This bread is so versatile. We can add different inclusions to the flour.”
Flavors like Pimento Pepper Jack and White Chocolate Cranberry will be available later this year as limited-time offers.
Our bakers have been in training for months to produce the loaf, which is made daily and sold in paper bags.
“We have skilled bakers in our stores,” Ashley said. “This bread is heartier and denser. It taps into a new texture we didn’t offer before, bringing a new eating experience to our customers.”
The bakery rolled out Tutto Pugliese in April, and in May, the deli started offering the bread to customers ordering sliced-meat subs.
