Kids showed what they need to plant in order to grow a successful future by submitting drawings and essays to Publix News’ annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day contest.
Each year, students ages 8 – 18 experience what it’s like to be a Publix associate during Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. They’re also given an opportunity to participate in the annual Publix News contest.
This year’s theme — Plant a seed. Grow a future. — inspired kids to submit drawings and essays depicting the seeds they need to sow for the future they want. Each child’s garden of dreams was different, but many referenced doing well in school, making positive life choices and getting a good job. Although we received many excellent entries, only one winner and runner-up could be chosen from each category to receive a prize pack. The winners and runners-up in each category are:
