Did you know Publix is one of United Way’s top corporate partners? In fact, Publix is ranked as United Way’s third-largest global corporate leadership giving company behind Wells Fargo and UPS.
United Way Global Corporate Leadership companies, their employees and retirees annually contribute more than $1 billion to communities in the U.S. through United Way — nearly 20 percent of the funds United Way raises worldwide.
Being a United Way Global Corporate Leader comes with many responsibilities. The agencies that benefit from Publix’s donations depend on us to continue giving funds, passion, time and talents so they can strive for stronger communities.
We are all connected by Publix’s giving culture, thanks to Mr. George. Publix partnered with United Way decades ago because he believed United Way was a great way to help communities, and the money raised remains local. Our partnership continues today through associates’ donations and a matching gift from Publix Super Markets Charities, plus countless hours spent volunteering at partner agencies.
“We take pride in owning a company that gives back to the communities in which we operate, and I’m looking forward to seeing how we are all connected through this year’s United Way campaign,” said Vice Chairman Barney Barnett. “Although we live and work in separate states, we are all connected by helping our communities through United Way.”
