Grab a hammer, paint brush or an apron and be ready to give back April 27 — our second annual Publix Serves Day is back by popular demand!
Publix Serves Day is a unique volunteer opportunity to give back to our communities. To build off Publix Super Markets Charities’ and Publix’s donations to Habitat for Humanity affiliates and Feeding America, this year’s day of service will benefit organizations that are focused on ending hunger and homelessness. Each district will receive funds to put toward a community service project, and on Publix Serves Day, you can help put the plan into action.
Talk to your manager if you’re interested in volunteering your time. Makesure you submit a time-off request through PASSport, and after the event, log the time you served by visiting PASSport > Community > Volunteer. Don’t forget to wear your Publix Serves shirt when you volunteer!
Share your service
Publix wants to see how you give back, so share your Publix Serves pictures by following these guidelines.
- Share photos or videos of your co-workers volunteering in the community, but don’t take photos or videos in your store. Seek permission from the organization before you post pictures and/or video.
- Email corporate.communications@publix.com, and tell us where your district served and what you did to give back.
- Use #publixserves to be part of the conversation on social media. Tag the official Publix Facebook page or post photos directly to the page at www.facebook.com/publix. On Twitter and Instagram, tag @Publix.
